Thank you for choosing Galicia: natural and sustainable destination
The Galician Association of Rural Tourism in collaboration with the Galician Tourism Agency presents this new initiative to promote tourism in our community as a natural destination, sustainable and environmentally friendly.

The Galician Rural Tourism Association, AGATUR, in collaboration with the Galician Tourism Agency, presents the project "Thank you for choosing Galicia", an initiative that will encourage natural tourism, sustainable and respectful of the culture and people of our community. The decline suffered by the Galician tourism sector due to the health emergency caused by COVID-19 and the consequent declaration of the state of alarm, created the need to recover tourism in Galicia, thus was born the project "Thank you for choosing Galicia".
An idea that has as its object, in addition to the reactivation of tourist activity, promote itineraries and proximity products, as well as creating a synergy between the collectives involved in community tourism. Visitors will have the opportunity to get to know and enjoy places, among others, as “the heart of the Fragas do Eume Natural Park that will allow you to walk through the Atlantic riverside forest with a rich animal and plant biodiversity” highlights Juan Luís López, or “mixing nature and culture with a route through Ponteceso and the Ribeira do Río Anllóns, passing by the birthplace of Eduardo Pondal ”for those who come to the Costa da Morte. Also the main Galician towns that stand out for their history, heritage and culture such as the Lands of Santiago (Census, Iria Flavia ..), Lugo and Terra Tea, Ourense and Allariz, without forgetting the most gastronomic routes and visits such as those of Ribeira Sacra, Montaña Lucense or the Ría de Arousa.
Discover Galicia
The project "Thank you for choosing Galicia" aimed at enhancing the offer of rural tourism by adding new value proposals to motivate to extend the stay of visitors. To achieve this goal, two lines of action and GIFTS are formulated (individual bonuses that each rural tourism house will assign to each client greater than 12 years):
"Discover the geodesics of Galicia" and "Secrets of the Villages of Galicia".
"Secrets of the Villages of Galicia" will be intended for those individual reservations, of couples or families, what, spending more than one night in any rural tourism establishment in Galicia, they may receive one PREMIUM GIFT to take a guided tour of one of the seven cities (A Coruña, Ferrol, Santiago, Lugo, Ourense, Pontevedra and Vigo), always within the same province.
"Discover the geodesics of Galicia", it is proposed for minimum stays of two nights and in this case, for both individual bookings, of couples or families. Visitors will be able to receive one PREMIUM GIFT with activities carried out by tourist guides, active tourism companies, tourist wineries, restaurants, craftsmen, museums and facilities, etc.
With these lines of action framed in the project, the offer of activities in an environment close to the accommodation will be enhanced, promoting the local or proximity product, and the activities will always be developed within the province or the corresponding Geodestination. For this the Km0 Products, Galician crafts, Protected Geographical Indications, Designations of Origin, etc.… are the transmitting vehicle of the proposed experiences and that, in turn, it is used for its enhancement, improving their knowledge by the visitor, and promoting their use and consumption.
