Social telephone for the support and support to the citizens in the pandemic of Coronavirus

Or Telephone (900 400 800) of the Voluntariado reinforces itself as a Social Phone for the support and support to the citizens in the pandemic of the coronavirus

Due to the current health emergency situation, the current volunteer phone (900 400 800), employee of the Ministry of Social Policy, it will also work as a social phone. The aim is to provide support and support to citizens in need, prioritizing those calls that alert to situations of vulnerability or social emergency.

The schedule for this service will be 8.00 a 20.00 hours seven days a week.

The staff on this phone will answer, for the most part, the following types of calls:

1. People who call to resolve basic questions related to COVID-19, as the phone has been doing 012.

2. People who need specialized psychological support. You will be referred to a professional in this field.

3. People who call to report potential cases of special vulnerability and social emergency, whether they are their own or those of others, which will be analyzed by the Ministry of Social Policy and, of being or case, will be derived from the social services of the municipality.

4. People calling to volunteer in the coming weeks

The goal is to create a Volunteer Network, coordinated by the Ministry of Social Policy, to respond in two different cases:

As a priority: Telephone support. The social telephone staff will send calls to the registered people on this network, once you have a large number of people, so they can simply talk to those who are vulnerable or who need it most.

– Support to municipalities and voluntary action entities. In those cases in which the voluntary persons prefer to carry out a voluntary activity of face-to-face activity, the own Voluntary service of the Xunta de Galicia will put the volunteer person in contact with the social services of each city council or with entities of voluntary action of each zone. Preferably, this collaboration will be done through the Spanish Red Cross in Galicia. In any case, safety and health protocols must be strictly followed.
